My Favorite Flowers and Why

By Amelie S.

Lilies

Lilies are not very fragrant and smell a bit bad in my opinion, but they are beautiful and come in a lot of different colors. They also have unique petal designs that I love. Lilies also have many different colors like pink, white, and orange, and can come in different color variations. According to Bloom & Wild, the most common meaning of lilies is purity.

Amaryllis

Amaryllis flowers most commonly come in shades of red but can also have gorgeous shades of pink, orange, and white. They are very easy to care for, and their bloom lasts a few weeks. According to Interflora, the amaryllis flowers are seen as a representation of pride, determination, and strength.

Iris

Most iris flowers have a lovely blue-purple color. They can also come in colors like yellow and white depending on their lower classifications. The iris flower has a very pleasant smell as well. As stated by HGTV, “They can represent faith, hope, courage, wisdom, and admiration.”

Rose

This is a pretty basic choice, but roses come in a lot of stunning colors. Roses have a very enjoyable smell as well. Although roses have thorns, their petals have a soft and delicate feel which also makes them one of my favorite flowers. According to Harlow Gardens, red roses represent beauty, love, and courage, and yellow roses can represent friendship and joy.

Sunflower

The sunflower, another pretty common flower, is also one of my top choices of flowers. Their shades of yellow and orange are literally perfect for the flower. The inner circle part of the flower is not really ideal looking, but the petal around it definitely makes up for it. According to Bloom and Wild, the sunflower can convey loyalty and adoration.

Rating Bath & Body Works Scents

By Julia M.

General scents:

Image Credit: Bath & Body Works

Vanilla Bean Noel: Honestly, I think this scent is okay. It is not amazing and definitely toward the bottom of my list. This one is overstated and I’m honestly tired of the basic vanilla scent.
Sweater Weather: This scent is one of my favorites. It is a nice comforting scent that isn’t overwhelming and smells amazing. It’s a ‘cool’ scent that I enjoy using. I recommend it.
Frosted Coconut Snowball: This scent is one of the worst scents to exist. It doesn’t only have vanilla but also coconut. I don’t like coconut or vanilla scents and BOTH are in this scent. I’ve only bought this scent once, and I’m pretty sure I eventually threw it out. The scent is somewhat overwhelming and in general not great. If you like coconut and vanilla scents, you can have this scent because I’ll pass.

Gingham / Gingham Love: These scents are similar, although Gingham Love smells a bit sweeter compared to Gingham. Overall, I LOVE these scents and I proudly own both of these in my collection of Bath & Body Works. I highly recommend using either of these!!
Warm Vanilla Sugar: In general, I hate any vanilla scent, this one included. This scent is overwhelming and gives me a headache. Plus, the scent itself isn’t even as good as people make it out to be and I never buy this.

Strawberry Pound Cake: In my opinion, this scent is one of my least favorites. It doesn’t smell like strawberry pound cake and even less like strawberries. If they remade the scent maybe i’d like it more, but as of right now, it’s not so great.

Butterfly: As of now, this is supposedly a “new” scent, although I’m pretty sure it’s just the original Sweet Pea scent but renamed. Now, the Sweet Pea scent is much different from what it used to be, and not as good as it was. Butterfly is a new favorite of mine because it’s Sweet Pea’s original scent. As described in the name, it is a sweet-smelling body mist that will always be one of my favorites.
Japanese Cherry Blossom: This scent was good, but I’ve eventually gotten tired of smelling it. It’s way too overrated and now there is everything from hand sanitizer to shampoo in this scent. When Japanese Cherry Blossom first came out, it was one of my favorites but now it’s quite low on the list of scents that I like. I will use the scent but preferably not.

Men’s Scents:

Bourbon: I love all of the men’s scents. Though, this one is my favorite out of all of them. It’s hard to describe what the men’s scents smell like, but all you need to know is that they smell immaculate. I highly recommend this scent.
Ocean: This one is another amazing men’s scent. As I’ve said before, the men’s scents are unique and hard to describe but they all smell good. This one is my favorite men’s scent and I highly recommend it. According to 7th grader, Duaa K., “I like this scent because it reminds me of vacation.”

Best and Worst Bottled Water

By Gigi L.

We all drink water. Water is quite literally the base of all life. However, some water is better than others. This is a list of the best and worst bottled water brands.

Last Place: Dasani

Coming in last place is our good friend Dasani. Water isn’t supposed to have a flavor, so why is it spicy? It tastes like pool water. Dasani just isn’t giving what it should be giving. In all honesty, it just makes your dehydration worse. If I was drying up into dust in the desert and I only had Dasani, I would just die.

4th Place: Aquafina

Aquafina is literally just Dasani with prettier packaging. It tastes a little less like sewer water, but it’s still not great. Plus, according to 21 Ninety, “When tested for its pH level, Aquafina came up acidic.” No ma’am. Absolutely not. Stop.

3rd Place: Smart Water

Smart Water is okay. It still has a weird undertone of taste, but overall, I don’t absolutely hate it. I’d drink this if I was really thirsty. Plus, it’s endorsed by Zendaya, so I have to give it some points.

2nd Place: Fiji

Fiji is good. It has a taste, but unlike the unholy Dasani, it’s not a bad taste. It gives off tropical vibes. It’s just very calming. It tastes expensive, and it is. The only reason it’s not higher on the list is because one bottle is like $10.

1st Place: Zephyrhills

In first place is the best bottled water you will ever consume. It’s just so refreshing. It has a flavor, but it’s so subtle and it just blends in with the natural essence of the water. I can’t describe it. It’s that good. All hail Zephyrhills.

Rating Clothes

By Julia M.

This is an 8/10 because the baggy ripped jeans look good and are more comfortable than the typical ripped skinny jeans. They’re more fashionable and can be styled with simple tops. These are better because ripped skinny jeans are uncomfortable and kind of basic. I would rate this higher but if you’re out on a sunny day you’ll definitely get a terrible tan.

10/10 Sweatpants are always comfortable and can be matched with basically any top. They are typically worn during fall and winter and are overall a good pick.

9/10 It honestly depends on the type of hoodie you have, but usually they’re really comfortable. Most people own them and I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t own at least one. They’re popular and for a good reason.

5/10 Cardigans look okay, but I’ve honestly only ever seen English teachers wear these. I wouldn’t buy one if I saw it, but I feel like it can be easily matched with other clothes. It is definitely not my favorite option.

8/10 Tank tops are cute and can be easily matched with jeans, shorts and skirts. They’re pretty popular and a bit basic, yet a good choice.
